We are committed to providing a learning environment that is both fun and inspiring to our high school students. We will always bring relevant religious education to our students as we strive to build religious habits that will serve them throughout their lives as Catholic adults. When our students leave the high school program, they will be well-educated and solidly grounded in their Catholic faith.
9th Grade High School Students Freshmen here at St. Mary’s will continue their journey from Baptism toward Confirmation by growing as disciples of Jesus Christ and coming to a relationship with Christ. They will also continue working to understand the basics of the Catholic Church. This first year of high school is important to ready them for their Confirmation year as sophmores in high school. ALL students must attend two years of Confirmation preparation classes, held in 8th and 9th grades, before receiving the sacrament of Confirmation.
During freshman year, students will use a curriculum based on Decision Point, published by Dynamic Catholic. This program will give students an understanding of our story from creation through salvation history. It will show them that the sacraments, prayer, and discipleship are the keys to a happy life. Classes may also use the Catechism of the Catholic Church and The Catholic Youth Bible in their classes. A retreat experience is also a part of Confirmation preparation.
High School Confirmation Class Early in the fall of their sophomore class, our Confirmandi will make final preparations
for their reception of the sacrament and what it means in their lives.
We know that it is through active participation in the mass
that we build a strong faith community and grow closer to Jesus through the Eucharist.
