Sacramental Prep First Reconciliation and First Eucharist
What a joyful year 2nd grade is!! They are now old enough to learn about our Catholic faith’s beautiful sacraments of Reconciliation and Eucharist and prepare to receive them with love, joy and reverence toward Our Lord and His gifts of mercy and grace. Our mission is to have the children know and understand the love and sacrifice Jesus made for them, the mercy He extends to all of us and the reverence we show Him in acceptance of His gifts.
To prepare for these sacraments, 2nd graders attend either RE classes or St. Mary's School, and also participate in additional sacramental prep classes as a group. In addition, there is a home study component to include parents in preparing their children for these wonderful sacraments. To confirm: Sacramental Prep is IN ADDITION to regular Religious Education classes or Catholic school education and always includes regular, weekly attendance at Sunday (or Saturday evening) Mass with their family. Lastly, there will be some additional TBA dates for the children to make Chalices for their First Communion.
Typically, 2nd grade is the sacramental preparation year for First Reconciliation and First Communion. If you have a child who is older and has not yet received these sacraments, please contact Colleen Szerlong at 608-752-7861 or [email protected], and we can arrange for their preparation.
Enclosed is a schedule of our group classes. Please sign your child up for Sacramental Prep on our RE registration form. If you have any additional questions, please feel free to contact Colleen Szerlong at 608-752-7861 or [email protected], s
